Forget about straightening irons. Chemical straightening lasts for months. Say good-bye to frizz and have stick straight hair that's "wash and wear"

Common Questions about Chemical Hair Straightening

1. Is chemical hair straightening only for curly hair?

No, chemical straightener is formulated specifically for curly, wavy, frizzy, or hair with lots of volume. Technically speaking, you can put chemical straightener on any hair type and it will make it less wavy, curly, or frizzy. Note: Some heat straighteners (irons) can actually make hair frizzier, because it heats your hair, which can burn it and encourage split ends.

2. How long do relaxers last?

Chemical Straightners/Relaxers will last until newgrowth comes through. That depends on how quickly youir hair grows. Some people it can last for 6 months, and others could last 2 months.

3. Are permanent straighteners actually permanent?

Yes and No! The hair that actually recieves the chemical, is permanently straightened. However; newgrowth, like with color, will grow. So a retouch will be necessary to maintain the straight look. Depending on how quickly your hair grows, will determine when to recieve your next chemical straightener. So yes, the hair that recieved the straightener, is permanently straightened.

4. Can I do it myself at home?

That's up to you. It's not recommended that you perform a relaxer at home. A chemical hair relaxer should be done by a professional who has been trained to do so. Any chemical service should be done by a professional. If something goes wrong at home, who can fix it? A professional has been trained to deal with situations that may arise during a chemical service. Corrective color and relaxers will more likely cost more than having it done professionally in the first place.
